Law of Attraction Awareness

Millions and millions of people have read or watched The Secret. Why haven’t all those millions manifested all they desire?  Why are so many of us still trying to create the financial abundance, health, success, relationships, and everything else we want?  Why hasn’t the law of attraction brought us what we want when we’ve been visualizing and creating manifestation boards?

I believe we’re not enjoying the results we want is because The Secret didn’t give us the KEY to unlocking the door to our desires.  It didn’t tell us how important it is to find wags every day, i.e. finding ways to feel good.

THE SECRET IS WAGS is a blog inspired by my dog, Ducky’s, exuberant, joyful tail wags.  It’s a blog about awareness of the law of attraction and the power of energy vibration.

The law of attraction is a law of the universe, like the law of gravity on our planet.  It’s not something you activate, as some law of attraction coaches teach.  It’s not something that you really use either, most of the time–no more than you usually consciously use the law of gravity.  Sometimes, you do use the law of gravity. For example, you may know you need to move something large.  You know if you put it on an incline, the law of gravity will be called into play, and the object will roll downhill.  Usually, though, you just live with a quiet awareness of the law of gravity.  It’s a knowing that keeps you from walking off of rooftops.

Most of us were raised without this awareness.  Even since The Secret came out and the concept of “law of attraction” became mainstream, we haven’t really learned to integrate an awareness of the law into our lives.  We have learned of its existence, but we tend to live NOT in awareness of it.

This blog chronicles my journey to develop an all-encompassing awareness of the law of attraction’s impact on my life. By sharing what I’m observing about my circumstances as I amp up this awareness, I hope I will inspire you to become more consistently aware of law of attraction’s impact in your life as well.  Once we get to a point where living in second-nature-awareness of the law of attraction, we will subconsciously do what we must do have the law influence our lives in a positive way.

My journey to full awareness of the law of attraction starts with this understanding (based on the teachings of Abraham, as translated by Esther Hicks):

The minute I desire something, the nonphysical part of me (which is the greater part of me) immediately becomes what I desire vibrationally.  To experience what I want, I need to get in alignment with that nonphysical part of me so that the law of attraction will bring to me experiences that I desire.  To get in alignment, I have to be thinking thoughts that are a vibrational match with what my nonphysical self has become.  I know I’m thinking such thoughts if I’m feeling good.  SO if I feel good, the law of attraction is bringing me what I want.

Have you ever devoted yourself fully to making sure you choose thoughts that feel good?  Be honest.  Have you ever made it your top priority to find reasons to feel good?  If you haven’t, you may have been having the same problems attracting what you want as I’ve been having.

Even though I’ve visualized out the ying-yang and plastered my walls with pictures of things I want, I haven’t yet consistently made it my focus to feel good day after day after day.  In other words, I haven’t found a way to consistently “wag my tail.” I believe this feeling good place is the real secret of making the law of attraction work in a positive way in our lives.  So this blog is about that task.

Who am I?

I’m Ande Waggener, professional author, devoted, okay–maybe obsessive is a better word, dog mom, wife, and friend.

Ducky and me for blog

I just turned 50 years old.  I’ve had a lot of what people would call success in my life.  I was raised in a good home, an only child.  Wasn’t beaten or deprived.  I have a B.A. in Psychology and a law degree.  I have had great jobs in the legal field—made good money and enjoyed success.

I had a good first marriage to a great guy who was my best friend.  We split up because he wanted children, and I came to realize that I didn’t.  I prefer dogs.  I’ve had great dogs in my life:  Dizzy, a cocker spaniel lived to be 9; Muggins, a Springer Spaniel, lived to be 17; Ducky, another Springer Spaniel, is an exuberant puppy who challenges me and delights me daily.

I enjoyed some single years, got to know myself, and came to enjoy my own company.  I found and married an exceptional man who I love and who loves me in a way that every woman should experience.

I’m a writer.  I’ve sold short stories, columns, essays, poetry, greeting card copy, and three books. I also sell e-books online, and I am a writing coach (I help writers with whatever projects they’re currently working on, and I critique manuscripts and provide editing help).  My writing career took a funny turn after my husband suffered a severe head injury and I later tore up and broke my ankle and leg and spent nearly a year in rehab. I took a sabbatical from writing books, but I plan to get back to it.

I live in the trees near the ocean.  I love rainy days and solitude.  I love reading, playing the piano (which I’m relearning after years away from it), drawing, writing (obviously), walking on the beach or in the woods with my dog, playing with my dog, watching my dog sleep, training my dog (okay, let’s make this simple—all things dog), watching movies, playing board games, cooking, traveling, dancing, laughing, sex, picnics, wind chimes, long Jacuzzi baths, plush animals, driftwood, bright colors (especially purple), pizza, wine, and last but actually it comes first in order of preferences—doing pretty much anything with my husband.

I’ve been on a long road to happiness.  I’m a therapy veteran.  An ex-seminar/workshop junkie.  A compulsive eater.  A meditator.  An experimenter with alternative healing practices.

Now I am a woman determined to be a deliberate creator of an exceptional life.
