Panther Power
It’s time to use my power. In October 2007, I practiced a lot of what Dr. Win Winger and Paul Scheele call image streaming (taken from their audio program, The Genius Code). The process has you ask a question, then go through a visualizing process that has you just follow whatever images come into your mind. Their premise is that these images hold the genius of your unconscious mind.
One day, soaking in the Jacuzzi, I received these three images in my image stream: 1) a black panther on gray rock, leaping down onto a dusty road to stroll toward purple hills with a setting golden sun. The panther is very calm, paying no attention to anything as he strolls along; 2) a black panther and a tiger in a golden zoo cage, pacing back and forth and looking at each other as they pass each other in total calm with tails twitching; and 3) a calm, still black panther lying in the middle of a round white-covered bed in a opulent huge bedroom decorated in white with gold/gilded accents and bright light coming in through the windows.
The question I’d asked before I’d followed the images was: What main opportunity to serve should I stay alert for today?
This technique centers on finding the overlaps of the three images and intuiting the meaning of those commonalities. The overlaps that I saw were: a black panther, a feeling of powerful calm and assuredness and confidence, and the color gold. So my first thought about the answer to my question was that I should stay alert for the chance to display calm, serene power, confidence, and assuredness.
I was also struck by the panther. I looked up panther symbolism online, and I discovered that the black panther is a totem of great power. The panther symbolizes moving from limited existence into an existence without barriers. It signals a time of awakening.
I was jazzed. I felt like my image stream had brought me a totem that was reminding me of my power to create, my power to form a new life.
I thought I was ready to use that power. What’s happened since then would suggest I haven’t used it well.
But is that true?
Have you ever remodeled your house or reorganized a room or moved into a new place? You know how during any of those processes, things look like total chaos, like you’ve torn your physical world apart and made a mess of it?
That mess is necessary to the new order that will come after. You have to have that chaos during remodeling, organization, or moving.
So why would it be different in our spiritual life? Chaos precedes reordering.
Abraham says that when you become aware of how powerful your thoughts are, how much you desire things, you’re likely to create a bit of a mess on the way to creating what you want.
Why?
Because the moment you focus in on what you want, all the doubts and fears you have about it will surface. And because you want something SO much, the force of the energy Vortex in which you’re swirling is very powerful. Abraham also uses the analogy of a stream: we’re in a stream of energy. We can either go with the flow of it or paddle against the current. Effort, struggle, negative emotions are all going against the current, going upstream. Feeling good is allowing alignment with our nonphysical being, and that is downstream. Nothing we want is upstream. It’s all downstream. The more we want, the longer we’ve wanted it, the faster the stream flows.
So when we turn upstream, it beats us up, i.e. we feel really bad. That feeling really bad is the indicator of the vast distance between where we are VIBRATIONALLY in our physical form and where our nonphysical energy is vibrationally.
So I’ve made the mess, quite a nice one, thank you very much. Running out of money, no more credit cards (you give them all up when you consolidate that much credit card debt), trashed credit rating, major overweight … oh yeah, and I haven’t yet mentioned that Muggins, my beloved Springer Spaniel, who I mentioned was my inspiration and best friend, died in October.
The chaos is compelling.
But I’m ready to claim my panther power.
How about you?
Are you ready to listen to the owl?
